cRAP Music

Rap music is so contradicting. In one verse the rapper will rap about how he lost a couple of his homies to the streets. Then he will turn around and glorify the streets in the very next verse. When will they finally see a problem in their message?

I have heard the argument from rappers that movies show way more violence, so why isn’t anyone targeting movies. That’s true movies do show a lot of violence and have a lot of subliminal messages within them, BUT no one goes around humming movie scripts all day. You will catch people randomly singing music tho. That is because music is powerful.

Try this one day. Ask a kid to do a simple math or algebra question and watch him sit there and ponder for his dear life. Then ask him to spit the latest such and such song. I bet he spits it without a second thought.

Everything manifest from our thoughts. Our thoughts shape our reality. Think about this. At some point in time chairs didn’t exist. Yes, chairs that you sit in didn’t exist at one point in time. Until some man came up with the crazy idea (thought) that he was tired of standing all of the time. That thought/ idea consumed his thinking until one day he designed what we know as a chair. His thought manifested into a chair. Of course he had to work to bring the chair into reality, but the chair started all from a single thought. I used a chair as an example but that goes for every invention that we use in this physical world.

The black community’s physical world is in shambles. This is because our thoughts are aligned with death and destruction, these are the things that rap is about. Someone will always give the counter argument saying, “Well I listen to rap and I am doing ok.” But “ok” isn’t good enough. I am speaking on things that will have you doing GREAT!

Every other culture on this planet understands the power of thought. It is about time that we learn to use our thoughts accordingly. Quit listening to rap that pollutes your mind. Especially quit listening to it while driving around with your kids in the car. Kids absorb everything they hear. Don’t pollute their minds before they get a chance to really explore and use them.

When you get a chance take about an hour to an hour and half and read “As a Man Thinketh” by James Allen. I will leave the link here!

I pray that this message moves you too want to clear your thoughts. Your thoughts control your destiny. Don’t let cRAP music deter you from your destination.

I write this with love! Peace Gods and Goddesses!

  1. “Rap” or hip hop in general is a form of story telling or in other words journalism. The day to day struggles of the individuals and the lives they life from their perspective. Its them telling their story, if you look you’d definitely find positive rap but don’t blame the rappers with dark music . They are only reporting what they see and live. That’s why often times when they make it out the hood their music changes, the sound changes . They go from violence, to glorifying their lavish lifestyles . Simply reporting the world from their ideology and perspective. Side not , when has popular music ever being one to boost moral high ground?
Want positive music? give them a better perspective.
Its not their message , its their story.

I agree that rap originated as a form of journalism but today is a different story. These rappers aren’t reporting what they have whitnessed. Most of them are spitting fairytales. Fairytales that will keep people especially black people in bondage. Old school music boosted moral naturally. There was a frequency that was uplifting in most of the songs even if they artist was talking about having his or her heart broke.

  2. Our minds are a very powerful weapon and our people simply don’t have a clue. That’s why the book of Jeremiah 4:22 says “My people are stupid children, they are experts at doing wickedness but the good they’re supposed to do they are foolish”.. it’s a crying shame.

“My people are lost destroyed from a lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6
But most of them claim to be “Christian”. SMH Hard headed foolish people.

  3. I agree! I am very mindful of what I listen to around my nephew and he has always, from birth, loved the oldies like The Jackson Five and The Gap Band and newer “old” sounds like Bruno Mars. He just appreciates the live band sound I guess, which lets me know this body he’s in is not his first. And he’s quick to let me know if he’s not feeling it.

Anywho, what we consume and reject is important to know and understand! I’m with you. But you know we just think it’s entertainment.

He’s probably an old soul. Just made his return to make sure that the rest of us are doing this thing called life right.
I hate that silly mindset of “It’s just entertainment.” People like that cry all day when stuff happens to us and when we do stuff to ourselves but when you give them the answer they really don’t want to hear it. And part of the answer is this cRAP music is destroying our minds. But hey what do little ole me know anyway. Thanks for tuning in Kelley! As always much love to you!

      1. I read something like “why does the white cop and black neighbor kill the black man?” A: neither of them value his life. It’s true! We are quick to point fingers when an outsider destroys us, but don’t want to face the changes in which we’d benefit from working from within.

Thanks for always speaking on often overlooked issues.

That’s 100 percent true. Neither of them value his life. Black people are cry babies. Shit we’re literally babies as well. Let anything happen to another race and I promise they’ll get together and make things happen. Therefore it won’t happen to another race. But us, we just want to cry and beg “daddy” to leave us alone. We don’t really want to put the work in. It’s easy to walk up down the street begging. It’s hard to build from the ground up.

          1. I read no lies here, Cliff. We are in a very sad place, always waiting for and complaining to a white savior to come make things right instead of building with our own brothers and sisters.

  4. There are good things coming and becoming from us still.., Let’s live it continuously. Ase!
