Start your New Year off right!

Here are a few tips on how to make your new year’s resolution last.

Write your goals down! Writing your goals down is the first step to accomplishing them. Writing takes that thought and turns it into an action. Also get a dry erase board and write your goals down on it. Place the dry erase board on your refrigerator. The reason for placing it on the refrigerator is because you more than likely eat every day. Therefore you have no choice but to look at your goals and be reminded of them daily. Make sure that you read your goals every morning when you wake up to help guide the direction of your day.

Take a picture of your goals and make it your phone’s screensaver. Also make that picture your computer’s screensaver as well. Now you will be forced to see your goals every time that you use your phone and computer. By seeing your goals and perpetually reading them; they start to become ingrained in your thought process. The more you think about something the more you start to work in the direction to make that thought a reality. Every single invention we see and use today, started as a thought. Let’s use a chair for example. The person who invented the chair, thought about it enough that he or she started taking the necessary steps to make the intangible thought into a tangible chair.

Your thoughts become your reality. Therefore you should guard your mind from anything that would try to deter you from your goals and focus on yourself (Time Spent Wisely). This is not a selfish act. You cannot help others until you have helped yourself. We can only change ourselves for the better and hope that our light shines on someone else, who will then in turn change their life by following the example we set; hence the ripple effect.

I pray that your will be strong and that you are successful in all of your endeavors this upcoming year. Happy New Year to you and yours!

As always thanks for reading.

Your welcome Tequillia. That’s what we are here for to inspire and motivate others.

  2. Excellent advice nephew. Going to write my primary goal down and keep it in front of me. The screensaver idea is really good.

Thanks for stopping by and dropping a comment Unc! Keeping your goals in front of you is definitely the way to go. The more we think about our goals, the more we take the necessary steps to accomplishing them. Have Patrick do the same at this early stage in his life and he will be light years ahead of his peers. Tell him “Hello” for me too.

  3. Hey cliff this is EXACTLY the key to achieving your goals. It really is this simple. I was doing this and it definitely works!!! I remember I also would put my goals on my bathroom mirror in the corner because most of the time when you 1st wake you use the bathroom. It is also very true your thoughts are the real you and your thoughts definitely become real life if you think about them enough so yea why not keep your thoughts positive and up lifting. Once again thank you for the uplifting and enlightening article.
