Listen, Watch and Speak Carefully!

In Knowledge, Truth, Wisdom by Cliff Green4 Comments

People are going through problems everyday and have no reason as to why they are going through them. You are what you listen to. You are what you watch. With those two sentences being true, you must know that you bring into fruition the things that you speak about. If television and music are what your thoughts are focused on; those thoughts will soon become your reality. We must get back inTUNE with our universal truths.

For instance watching TV may seem harmless to most, but that is so far from the truth. TV bombards your mind with subliminal and just flat-out filthy messages. You may see a Wendy’s commercial and think nothing of it, until one day you just have that random craving to eat some Wendy’s. Let’s say that you don’t Masturbate and that you succumb to the temptation of eating fast food. Once you’ve put that food into your body, you have just made room for diseases and all kinds of illnesses to invade and attack you and your health.

We also need to listen carefully to the people that we have conversations with. I have had many people tell me that music has no influence over them. After I tell them and break down the reason why it does influence them and others, if they are not willing to listen I just end the conversation. This is the part where you have to listen carefully, because if I were to continue to go back and forward with such a person I would only be bringing myself to become a fool as well. Proverbs 26 verse 4 says, “Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will be like him yourself.” When people speak with you they are implanting their ideals and beliefs onto you. You have to be wise enough to decipher the things that are being said to you, or you too will succumb to the same lifestyle/ problems as the person speaking.

Back to music and its control over us. For those that think that it doesn’t have any control; next time that you are around a teenager ask them to solve a simple algebra equation. And pay attention to how long it takes them to solve the question or if they even attempt to at all. After that ask them to spit the lyrics to the latest rap song. I’m willing to bet that they spit it back instantaneously. Because music stays in your mind. That why we were taught the alphabet through song.

It’s easy to see the influence that music has over us. While riding the metro yesterday this young bull was walking up and down the car with his headphones on singing his music out loud. Arms swinging, pants sagging, all while holding his sack. Lmao! I grab myself occasionally to readjust myself but not to look like I’m in a rap video. People are what they listen to. And clearly his reality has become that of an average rapper of today. He along with millions of others listen to music then sing it out loud, and by singing it out loud they are speaking it into fruition.

I was riding in my friend’s car a while back and he put on a Young Jeezy and Jay Z track. I’m a pretty strong-willed individual who constantly works on improving myself, but after listening to that track even I wanted to go pick up a pie and get it booming. I say that to say that no matter who you are music has an influence over you.

In the Bible, John 1 verse 1 says, “In the beginning was the word….”. Genesis 1 verse 3 says, “and God SAID….” Meaning that the Most High spoke the things written about into existence. As I stated in Family Equals Perfection, if we are made in the image of our Creator, we have the same abilities as our Creator to create as we will. Therefore we should Listen, Watch and Speak Carefully in our daily lives. This knowledge is not only written in the Bible, it is written on the walls, it written in your DNA; we just have to tap back into being who we truly are: Gods and Goddesses! Get back inTUNE!

This post may be a bit choppy because I am headed into work, but let me know what you think on this topic in the comment section below.

  1. Wow! So true! I definitely agree. It really made me think about how music can change my mood. I’m a big India Arie fan so when I’m having a bad day and put on her music it lifts my spirits. Just like Facebook and the media put so much negative out there. I am not blind to the ignorance and hate going on in the world, but I feel like there is so much love out there too. Imagine if we were spreading and reposting that!

Music definitely has the power to move people. The goal is to end all the negativity and to promote positive things no matter what they are. If everybody spreads the Love and shares the Wisdom, we would definitely live in a much better word. Thanks for tuning in.

  2. “we just have to tap back into being who we truly are: Gods and Goddesses! Get back inTUNE!” – i teach this exact thing all the time to my yoga students

Word! Because it is true. We let our godhood go and with that came the bull. We need to get back in tune with nature. Get back in tune with our bodies. Get back in tune with UNIVERSAL truths! Gods and Goddesses! I’m returning back. I know that you are too!
